Dr. Eve N. Sobel graduated from Tufts Medical School in 1997 and did her internal medicine residency, including a year as chief resident, at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. Her undergraduate studies were at University of Maryland where she concentrated in biology. She earned a master’s degree in cell biology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and then turned to clinical medicine.
Before joining Dr. Kanner in Orchard Health Care in 2017, Dr. Sobel practiced for over 15 years in a primary care group in Wellesley sponsored by Newton-Wellesley Hospital. At Newton-Wellesley, she was regularly cited as the top internist in quality measures. She has directed many patient care improvement projects involving concerns such as managing high blood pressure and osteoporosis, as well as preventing falls in the elderly. Her patient panel includes both women and men, but comprehensive women’s care including gynecology is certainly a major focus for her.
Dr. Sobel shares Dr. Kanner’s love of personalized patient care with emphasis on thorough preventive measures and health education as well as accurate and prompt illness care. She is pleased to have joined Orchard Health Care where the membership practice format allows ample time for calm and thorough patient visits and communication supported by robust nursing and administrative staff.
Dr. Sobel and her husband have four teenage and older children. They live in Newton.
